Landmark Group Launches Mega DC in Dubai

The retail giant, owned by Dubai-based billionaire Micky Jagtiani, behind the eMax, Centrepoint, Home Centre, and Babyshop brands, recently opened a "mega" warehouse capable of processing 300 million items a year. The system has been designed to handle products shipped in either full pallets, mixed cartons, single pieces, and garments-on-hangers. The 700,000 sqft. facility will service 2,300 retail outlets across four dozen brands in the region.

The new DC features 141' high bay stacker cranes and a goods-to-person order fulfillment system (G2P) with the capacity to store up to 2.2 million cartons and 250,000 garments on hangars. The automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) has been designed with an advanced software stack (WCS) capable of controlling 1,300 multi-shuttle robots, 94 lifts and 28 workstations. The total cost is AED 1 Billion.
